Rizos Curls Clean Philosophy : Clean Hair Care for Healthy Curls

Born from a desire to create curl care products that give impeccable styling results and include natural & clean ingredients to make hair and scalp healthier with each use, Rizos Curls was created to meet and exceed these expectations. Rizos Curls stands by the promise to bring the very best, as if we were creating hair care for our very own family, because that was honestly the inspiration for the brand.

Being apart of a immense Latino family, there are many family members with textured hair. Wavy, curly, coily hair and no products on the market with a focus on clean ingredients and definitely no representation. Growing up as a 1st generation Mexican - American in Los Angeles, Julissa Prado spent a lot of time traveling to  visit her family on their rural ranches in Michoacán, learning the ways of generations before her and how the lived off the earth and used what grew in their fertile lands to treat everything from scratches and skin irritations to scalp itch and dry hair. Off the beaten path from mainstream markets and drug stores, the family regularly used natural botanicals, fruits, organic oils and indigenous plants to topically treat and heal every ailment, nurture skin & bolster health.  They were organic and natural before it was a thing! Julissa always held this connection to natural remedies close and it became a driving force to creating her own hair care line centered on harnessing the goodness of nature for healthier waves, curls & coils. 

 All Rizos Curls products are intentionally formulated with high quality, natural ingredients with benefits that will allow you to confidently use Rizos Curls knowing you are doing right by your strands. No sulfates, silicones or parabens is just a start to what we don't include in our range of products but it doesn't stop there. What makes hair products clean?

Basic requirements that most clean brands abide by is that they make strong efforts to avoid parabens, sulfates [SLS and SLES], phthalates, formaldehyde, formaldehyde releasers, DEA [an ethanolamine compound], triclosan, and ethoxylated ingredients [like PPG and PEG]. In addition, they avoid chemicals in formulas that are known to have ill effects on hair, skin and overall health. Meeting regulatory standards, like European ( EU) Standards, which are significantly higher and stricter than in the US, assures our community that we prioritize safe formulas and go the extra mile to bring the very best in all of our hair & scalp care products.
