Role Overview:

Rizos Curls is looking for a highly enthusiastic, collaborative & people-focused Community Assistant. This role supports the Community Manager in driving social media engagement and influencer strategies, and acts as the voice of Rizos Curls on social media. In this role you will be interacting directly with the Rizos Curls community and act as an extension of our brand on all social channels, directly growing & cultivating our digital community. You’ll foster love for Rizos Curls online by strategically engaging with our community, driving excitement about the brand, fostering connection and going above & beyond their expectations in supporting their needs. Our ideal candidate is an excellent writer who loves all things social media.


This position reports into the Community Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the voice of Rizos Curls across social media channels, driving engagement with our community & fostering a connection to the brand.
  • Maintain various online communities across channels including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Amazon reviews, Website reviews & more.
  • Embody brand voice in actively responding to all customer communication via social media (comments, DM’s, tags, posts etc.).
  • Respond to customers in a fast & timely manner to build engagement and provide thorough solutions for customers that promote affection for the brand.
  • Provide excellent customer service that adheres to brand communication quality standards & builds authentic relationships with our customers.
  • Maintain a positive community environment on social media by monitoring comments and fostering affinity for the brand.
  • Represent brand voice & adhere to company communication quality standards.
  • Strategically respond to comments & engage with customers at key times that boost algorithm performance, including immediately after a post, promptly after comments are left, high traffic days such as the weekend & at key high traffic hours during the day.
  • Must be available to monitor social media and comments during the weekend and at peak engagement times.
  • Fuel engagement by responding to comments on all posts featuring Rizos Curls including posts by customers, creators, influencers, media & retailers.
  • Proactively fuel user-generated-content (UGC) by encouraging customers to post the brand, identifying top fans & customers, and rewarding & recognizing enthusiasm for our brand.
  • Monitor UGC & identify opportunities to incorporate into content programming & calendar.
  • Maintain awareness at all times of all brand mentions, tags & user generated content and re-share as appropriate.
  • Maintain an expert-level knowledge of our hair care products, ingredients & styling tips to fuel engaging communication with customers & respond to customer hair-related inquiries.
  • Assist in coordinating influencer relations, including with brand ambassadors, content creators, digital collaborations, affiliates & influencers.
  • Support in influencer outreach, list building & seeding, including coordinating influencer communication and placing orders for mailers & send outs.
  • Enter seeding orders into Shopify and monitor tracking and delivery.
  • Ensure influencer outreach is reflective of brand community, diversity & inclusivity.
  • Maintain community and ongoing relations with influencers & content creators.
  • Identify opportunities to engage with other brands, social accounts & influencers on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide excellent customer responses, assist with copywriting & write excellent captions.
  • Assist marketing team with content needs & content calendar planning.
  • Identify popular culture & consumer trends and incorporate into brand content.
  • Participate in creating highly-creative, fun & engaging social media content.
  • Events – Participate in coordination, planning & execution of events, activations, pop up’s, community experiences & more.
  • Create monthly reports with findings & suggestions that will help guide community performance and social media content needs.
  • Incorporate customer insights from social media into strategic marketing activities.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2-3+ years of experience working in social media marketing
  • Must have experience working with a beauty brand
  • Social media savvy and eager to engage and grow an online community
  • A social butterfly that loves daily human interaction
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong communication & customer services skills
  • Cares strongly about community, customers, aesthetic & understands what's on-brand.
  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong knowledge about all social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, Facebook & more
  • Excited to be part of a collaborative team
  • Experience with Shopify is a plus
  • Experience with GRIN is a plus
  • Highly in-tune w/ trends & culture
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred Bilingual in English & Spanish *Must be able to respond to customers in both English & Spanish
  • Must be in Los Angeles Area *This is not a remote position


Salary: $45K-$62K based on experience, in line w/ competitive industry range
