What is the Bowl Method?
The Bowl Method is a curly conditioning and styling method that promises to create clumps of curls by thinning out your styling product and allowing the power of water to pull your curls together. Popular for those with stringy and thin curls and waves, The Bowl Method dilutes the product in your hair with repeated dunks in a bowl of water and boasts its ability to add moisture and shine to your hair. This is a process that requires some patience but if it produces the best curls of your life, I think its worth a shot!
Fill a medium sized bowl with warm water. Flip head so hair is hanging in front of you and brush to comb hair down ward, smoothing your hair. Dip your hair into the bowl, then remove hair letting water draining from hair go back into the bowl. Begin scrunching your hair upward, squeezing out the water and forming curl clumps.
Repeat this dunking and scrunching process four times total. Once with curls in front, then moving curls on each side of your head and a final time in front. Scrunch to remove excess water.
Scrunch out excess moisture with a microfiber towel or cotton t-shirt.
