Wash N Go : Wavy

Wash N Go : Wavy
A Wash N Go, is just as it sounds. An approach to styling your textured hair that simply lets you wash, style and go without much effort or manipulation. This style preference gives your hair a rest from direct heat styling and this no fuss curl care practice is preferred by those that want to keep it simple.

WASH
For wavy hair, you will want to start with a clean slate. Wash day can be a regular wash routine with our Hydrating Shampoo and Deep Conditioner, however if your waves are looking dull, lackluster and lifeless you may want to level up. Swapping your Rizos Curls Wash Day Duo for a deep treatment day is suggested every 1-4 weeks, depending on the health of your hair. Using Apple Cider Vinegar Scalp & Hair Rinse as a cleanser will gently clarify to remove excess oil and product build up so your waves can reach their max definition potential. With waves, any extra weight can weigh down strands and pull flat loose waves or curls so clarifying curls followed with conditioning is strongly suggested. Do avoid the roots when adding conditioner, as we want to make sure we keep those roots free and unweighted. Rinse throughly to be sure no conditioner is left behind.

STYLE
Have thin, fine waves or curls? Less is more. This hair type gets weighed down easily and the goal is to add the least amount of products to avoid stretching out the definition. Our Rizos Curls Refresh & Detangle Spray can be used as a styler, as it is a lighter version of our Curl Defining Cream and will enhance definition, add shine and provide a light, subtle hold. Rake into hair to apply from about an inch or 2 from the roots to the tips and scrunch to encourage the waves and curls to fall into formation. For additional hold, you can add a light layer of Light Hold Gel, using the  prayer hands technique to give a coat of hold without adding crunch or flakes. This light hold formula will not weigh hair down but give the curl control you need to hold your textured in its pattern.

If your waves are medium to thick, we suggest our Rizos Curls Curl Defining Mousse to style. This lightweight, airy styling foam provides the defining power of our top selling, Curl Defining Cream, but is weightless to protect loose, light wave and curl patterns from falling flat. This hydrating formula has Coconut Water & Cactus Flower Extract, keeping strands plump with no risk of weighing down and stretching the curl or waves pattern. For max texture, add Rizos Curls Beach Waves Texturizing Salt Spray to use the magic of Sea Salt to slightly dehydrate hair, shrinking the strand to create more robust texture. Our Beach Waves Texturizing Salt Spray is balanced with Blue Agave & Prickly Pear Cactus to restore and balance the hydration to your tresses typically lost by a day spent a the beach! All the benefits of enhanced texture without the dry, gritty feeling.

Now that you have achieved all that extra texture and enhanced wave or curl pattern, we need some hold to give it staying power. Add a layer of Light Hold Gel to give that touchable control without the annoying crunch and flakes. A few sprays of the Alcohol Free Hairspray as a finishing spray will continue to give hold and a few sprays at the root will give lift for more volume.

GO
Ready, set DIFFUSE! Diffused air is really the MVP to styling your waves and curls. Using gravity and our Collapsible Pink Diffuser to dry hair and roots off the scalp with a diffused flow of warm air. This is critical to great curls and waves and  helps to fight frizz and lock in texture. Especially important when you have to work to enhance texture; you don't want to compromise an inch!  Be sure to diffuse upside down, flipping hair from side to side for maximum volume. Always gather hair in the diffuser bowl and dry in an upward motion to encourage those tendrils to get in formation. Shine baby, shine! Add a few drops of Nourish Oil to your ends and length for a brilliant shine and moisture seal.
Wash N Go styling does have some variation on technique as you can also allow your hair to air dry or dry under a bonnet dryer. The absence of direct heat or hot tools to style qualifies for this quick and easy style for textured hair.
